If a corporation has issued only one type, or class, of stock it will be common stock. ("Preferred stock" is discussed later.) While "common" sounds rather ordinary, it is the common stockholders who elect the board of directors, vote on whether to have a merger with another company, and get huge returns on their investment if the corporation becomes successful.

The break-even point (BEP) in economics, business—and specifically cost accounting—is the point at which total cost and total revenue are equal. There is no net loss or gain, and one has "broken even," though opportunity costs have been paid and capital has received the risk-adjusted, expected return. In short, all costs that must be paid are paid, and there is neither profit nor loss. It is a type of a chart which is used for profit and loss and it is used in economics

For example, suppose Net Operating Income (NOI) is $120,000 per year and total debt service is $100,000 per year. In this case the debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) would simply be $120,000 $100,000, which equals 1.20. It’s also common to see an "x" after the ratio. In this example it could be shown as "1.20x", which indicates that NOI covers debt service 1.2 times.

The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) is a measure of a bank's available capital expressed as a percentage of a bank's risk-weighted credit exposures. The Capital Adequacy Ratio, also known as capital-to-risk weighted assets ratio (CRAR), is used to protect depositors and promote the stability and efficiency of financial systems around the world.
