Tesla recently cut the prices of the Model S and Model X across the US, by as much as 9 percent in some models.
The new price cuts on Tesla's most expensive electric cars come just days after CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the price-cutting strategy helped increase demand for the company's other electric cars.
Where Tesla had previously reduced the prices of the Model 3 and Model Y in China and many regions around the world, after it faced a crisis of declining demand for its cars near the end of last year, and this policy contributed to raising the demand for its cars with the beginning of 2023, and led to Increasing pressure on competitors who cannot achieve the same profit margin for each car.
According to a report from Reuters, Elon Musk said during a Tesla Investor Day event last week: “The desire to own a Tesla is very high, the determining factor is their ability to pay for a Tesla.”
And it seems that the discovery of the head of Tesla that its cars are expensive and his decision to reduce prices has contributed to the increase in demand significantly.
This news comes after Tesla has been increasing the prices of its various cars (Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y) throughout 2022, which is normal because spare parts are becoming more expensive and difficult to obtain. But the company is now going in exactly the opposite direction.

Thus, Tesla has reduced the price of the two Model S models by approximately $5,000, while the price of the two Model X models has been reduced by $10,000.
